Grand rally

The political party of the local officials had their grand rally here in my place, in the corner of the main highway and our provincial road, at the basketball court. The mayoralty candidate is our incumbent official, and since he governed our city, there were many establishments that were constructed, and the revenue of the city soared high. The opponents are the former (Chinese) mayor who ruled our city for 3 terms and the only achievements he had were building an annex to his hotel, a mall with many questionable things because the rods and blocks used were substandard, and his notorious ways in attacking the poor people (like slapping them even in front of others). The other opponent is the vice mayor of our incumbent mayor. He has no accomplishments because he just carried over those projects done by the present administration. His posters are like a male model with side views and him holding his watch. He is handsome all right, but he has no original projects. The former mayor, according to a neighbor, distributed P500. Well, those so poor people blindly accepted the money but they will vote for another mayoralty candidate. Did you attend the grand rally in your locality?

I don't attend political rallies. It will be interesting to see which of those three will win the election. My vote and since I'm not from the Philippines so it wouldn't count would be your current mayor. The former one is too shady for me. However, I wouldn't rule out the vice mayor. He might not have any projects under his belt, but he hasn't had the opportunity yet either is my guess.

@ridingbet All the candidates are relatives of mine. What else should I hear from them that I don't know already?

I once passed by a political rally for those running in the city where we will be voting , in front of a mall . I listened for a while but walked away when i heard them praising themselves for accomplishments which were i think not actually theirs but a call for duty .

@ridingbet Just like you i hate a candidate who would mud sling at his opponents . Why not simply say about his projects to be .

@SIMPLYD oh, if only i could tape the songs of this candidate who still wants to go back to his position as the notorious mayor, i would love too. incidentally, are video clips allowed to be posted here?

that is true. hearing them saying the expected projects is not good, also saying ill things about their opponents is another bad thing. all the more i will not vote for them take the case of the former (Chinese) mayor whose political song in the vernacular says that "the incumbent mayor has no accomplishments in the past administration" when in fact, many buildings and establishments are now rising here. in 3 years time, vacant lots were constructed with new buildings, a mall was built (not during his time-that Chinese), and SM malls and Robinson's are now undergoing construction, even street lights are now operational; and he thinks the mayor did not do anything for the improvement of our city?

no, it is not yet the "miting de avance", hija, but it was the rally where all the candidates in that party presented themselves to the public.

Most people were not educated to be critical of the candidate. This is why unqualified politicians remain in power for a very long time. Even in our barangay, those who are kagawads and chairman himself has stalls in the newly build market. No, I'm not politically active this year, I have not decided even to this day. I hope by monday I can decide already.

there are some kagawads here in my place who are tricycle drivers, belonging to the masses, and they know the life of the common tao. there are some advantages why we should vote for those who live in the poverty line, as long as they do not go over what is expected of them.
