Don't Read This Story If You Are Easily Scared (to death)!

This story came to my mind after reading the latest post of @broken-bee. A story about an apparition of a lady in white was told to me by my late grandmother. In the Philippines it is not unusual to see cemeteries just few meters away from highways and roads. My late grandmother told me this story about a ghost she and my late grandfather encountered in the middle of a night. According to them it was full moon on that night. As they were heading back home after visiting my cousin from a nearby village, they passed by our town’s cemetery. When they were about twenty yards away from the cemetery, they felt a sudden mild gust of cold air. It was summer and the air was warm. All of a sudden an owl sitting by an old acacia tree in the middle of the cemetery started to make an eerie noise (owwwww!). Then just about 10 meters away from where they were, there appeared a lady in white standing and facing them. Her face was cotton-white. She stared at them for a moment, then disappeared. My grandparents were not easily scared by anything; but according to her at that moment they felt scared to death. Whew! Don’t take a walk in the middle of the night when the moon is full. It seems ghosts usually appear during full moon. O, by the way, If it is night where you are and alone, check behind you - - there may be an uninvited apparition of an old lady or old man staring at you! Have a good night sleep!_

Oh - that sounds pretty spooky! I have not been "fortunate" to see any ghosts - I have a feeling I am of no use to the unliving and so they do not appear before me . Our Filipina friend talks a lot about apparitions too - she and many of her Filipino co-workers exchange such stories - and tells us about it!!

I am wondering why most of ghost stories are about "lady ghosts." Maybe male ghosts are lazy to appear in the middle of the night. Or they may be appearing in the bars but people don't see them as they are preoccupied dancing, drinking, and so on.

@akalinus O, I see! But most women (including my wife) do one particular work just once in a while when they are in the mood to do it!

Now if you don't want me to read this you shouldn't put up a title like that... Fortunately, it's day time here and nope that didn't scare me one bit. But take me to a place somewhere eerie and for sure, I would have my hair staining on its ends.

I am lucky. It is still afternoon here and we are many in the house. This post does not scared me at all. By the way I also do not sleep alone on my bed because of house reconstruction. I sleep with my mom and sister.

Somehow i believe this apparitions of the white lady . I saw together with my playmates a white lady , in the window of the Home Economics house in the school fronting my grandparents house , where we are staying that time . We were about 4 years old then . The moment we saw it , we all run as fast as we can and told our parents . But when they went back there , the window was already closed .

@SIMPLYD Are you sure it was a white lady? She may have been your H.E. teacher whose face was covered with flour!

Thank goodness, it is daytime. I have sometimes felt a cold blast of air from nowhere and wondered why it was there. Hope nothing is watching me.

@akalinus O, no need to be scared of, my pretty friend. That blast of cold air is the last breath of spring coming from where I live, Calgary, Canada!

@antonbunot You should keep your cold air north of the border where it belongs. Now, if you build a wall tall enough...

@antonbunot I think you should lock him up along with his abandoned pet monkey and don't let him out until he promises to be a good boy.

Whoa! Hahahaha But they said there are more ghosts in hospitals or churches than in cemeteries. But my aunt and uncle also had seen a white lady at the cemetery near our town.

O, yeah!? How come there's a white lady in your town's cemetery?! That must be the lost living ghost of Caitlyn Jenner.

@JaboUK That is what you think . . . One day I am sure you will visit the Philippines. I am hoping you'd encounter a ghost. But don't worry most of the ghost, I heard, are friendly.

That would be very scary for them. I wonder if they walked that way again for a while.
