What's that smell?

I have never lived in an apartment building and can't say I would. But I did live in dorm, and did smell some weird things. Can you imagine the smell?. The super and the management department didn't go looking especially when they have seniors in the building. I knew a friend who looked after (cleaned) an older lady apartment. If they didn't see the lady within a day they were calling her (and the last time she had died), the neighbours called her when the mail haden't been picked up that morning. But a good week and the smell would be horrible.
