I am confidant that you have all heard in the news of the talcum powder that is said to have caused cancer in these two ladies. They have received multi-million dollar out comes in their cases. On the news tonight a representative for Johnson &Johnson just spoke on the news saying, "No, No, No, there is no plausible reason for the powder to be a problem at all", So my question here is this: Why would a high rated company like Johnson & Johnson take a risk like this? Are they going to continue to pay millions out on these law suits? Most companies don't take a chance and put the necessary note on the product in question that there could possibly be a problem.. Why put people at risk like that? The news item said that there have been information out there since the 60's that said this could be a possible issue. I think this is stupid. I used to use talcum powder and liked it. Sure don't now. Your thoughts.

they might have thought it was easier to pay than fight, BUT, being a big company like that, I do find it odd.

They are two of the biggest in the country. They have like a four star finance rating

I used to use it in the heat of summer after bathing. Helped me not feel all sweaty and nasty in the heat. Now, I guess I am out of luck.

@MGjhaud ...They want the company to put a notification on the packaging and they don't feel they need to.

It's been proven to be true. Lots of research on it since the 60's.

Here is one of many links on the subject:
Johnson & Johnson has been ordered to pay $55 million to a woman who claims its talcum powder caused her ovarian cancer, the second such judgment against the manufacturer in three months.

@celticeagle Logically it does prove they're there for the money and not the consumers.

I was reading about this earlier..apparently there has been research done that talcum could cause cervical cancer. So with that being said, why does a big company continue selling it? I also read that there are about 1,000 more cases that are pending!!
I guess they would rather pay people over claims than to quit making it, because they "believe" in their product, even though they are paying settlements!! Sorry so long winded!!
