Day 47
Psalm 47
Psalm 47:1 < O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
8 God reigns over the heathen: God sits upon the throne of his holiness.
9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
What do you have to give God praise for today? Is your life going well, you haven’t hit any roadblocks, everything is falling in place? Or has the opposite taken place and you don’t know which way to turn, your life is chaos, without any kind of harmony and all your expectations are gone?
Life is uncertain. One day we are on top of the world, everything looks great, and the next everything we knew falls down around our ears like a house of cards. Nothing is certain.
However, one thing is certain, and that is God. He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Because God doesn’t change there is always hope and always a reason to give God praise. You might wonder what you could possibly give God praise for, yet there is always something.
Israel was in exile. Nebuchadnezzar had laid siege to Judah and taken everyone away to Babylon, leaving only the poorest people behind to take care of the country. Yet the psalmist in his exile, found something to praise God for. Not only did he find something to praise God for, he proclaimed it with a shout and with the trumpet. He knew he wouldn’t always be in exile. He would go home one day, that was his hope. Therefore, he chose to praise God when everything looked glum and hopeless.
You can choose to praise God as well when things look hopeless and your life is one of despair. As long as you have breath in your body, all is not lost. As long as the sun shines, and the seasons follow their courses, there is hope.
As Christians, we always have hope. We know that one day Jesus is coming back for his church, his bride and he will take us to himself and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Everything we are going through here, is nothing compared to what awaits us in heaven with our Lord and Savior. So when life looks its worst, shout to God with the voice of triumph, it’s not over yet.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you that it’s not over yet. There is hope. Jesus will return and my life here will be over. Help me to praise you in the good times and in the bad because my hope isn’t in what I see, but in what I don’t see. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

I think praise in bad time is important, it also shifts our focus from bad to good.
As long as we keep trying, tomorrow is another day.
it's only over, when we've given up totally, or when our life is over.
