A couple years ago, I quit smoking. I was two weeks away from a tobacco-free year when I got so stressed out one day I succumbed to temptation and bought a pack. Well, here I am again. I'm getting to where I just don't like it anymore. Earlier today, I attended a tobacco cessation class at our local VA clinic, a video conference with vet's in Denver and other locations. It was an interesting, informative, motivating class, with information about lots of resources. (Did you know, that, according to the moderator, it takes the average smoker six tries before finally kicking the habit. I hope to beat that.) People bash the VA a lot, and in most cases, it's warranted. They also do some good things as well. This class is one of them, and I'm glad I went. I'm aiming for tomorrow as my quit date.
