Where I live, people live pretty much for themselves and I have lived here for over 20 years and I have never seen the faces of most of them.
It is a pity, but it is part of living in a big city. I know and love the neighbors my aunt has in San Fernando more than the people next door here.
Yet there is a cat that is friendly or proud, depending on its mood. He is absolutly sure that my terrace is his and every day, he walk through the terrace with his tail up in defiance.
I look at him and he looks back at me as is saying "what are you doing in my home".
Although I have to place some barriers when I´m planting my veggies, he is part of my life.
Should I put him a name?

That´s why I have to place nets to cover the earth when it is just planted. I shoo him, but he just looks. I think he thinks it is HIS house.

Isn´t it funny that they spend more time with us than with their owners?

@marguicha Cats do not care who is their owner, they choose their human. Yesterday I have worked in the garden and the cat has played with me all the time.

Cats can be wonderful friends. I find Freya, the Catblog Cat has a whole friendship circle of local people. I went to a village event and people keot asking if I was the human who owned that lovely cat!

I think that we all assign names to the animals that come into our lives,so why not give him a name?
