The pizza dough is made

As I posted earlier, I'm making homemade pizza for dinner tonight. I just made the pizza dough and it really was a simple affair. I combined a package of active dry yeast with a cup of warm water in the bowl of my stand mixer and let it sit for 5 minutes so the yeast could "wake up". Then I added 3 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, and 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and mixed everything together with the paddle to form the dough. At that point I switched to the dough hook and let it knead the dough for several minutes until it was very smooth and elastic. Simple! Or I should say simple with a KitchenAid!

It is just me and my husband so I do it on my own, but I could see it being fun as a family thing. You can even buy pizza dough at the grocery store if you don't want to get involved with making that part of it. I've been doing it for so long that it doesn't faze me.

Way to go! Home made pizza dough sounds a lot better than buying dough in the store.

@NJChicaa I can tell, it looks pretty easy. I'd rather have something handmade anyway. it always tastes better.

Gotta love those kitchen aids! My mom used to get the chef boyardee pizza kits when I was growing up. I loved making those pizzas, probably my favorite kind. I hope you enjoy your homemade pizza. What toppings will you put on it? Will the sauce be homemade as well?

This one has no sauce. It will have sauteed garlic (and garlic oil), mozzarella, proscuitto, balsamic onions, and thyme.

@NJChicaa That all sounds very good. Isn't Proscuitto a bit on the pricey side?

Now that sounds like it is simple enough with that Kitchen Aid. Home made pizza would be delicious. All I had for dinner was a chicago dog and chips.

It does look simple with the right machine.
