Trivializing things

It is now some kind of trend to make everything relative and trivialize it.
What do I mean by that? Well, most people are "progressive" nowadays meaning that they are becoming more and more accepting of certain stuff that was not acceptable in the past. This means that they want to live their lives to the fullest and enjoy everything they can by "having fun" as they say.
The reason for that is because they have trivialized things to a certain degree. They simply consider that this is the only life that we have and that there is no afterlife, no God and therefore they should take advantage of their time to the fullest. They are like "we are nothing special compared to the universe. We are all just a small particle of dust in the universe. Why would anyone think we are so special". This kind of mentality means trivializing things.
Another way to trivialize things is by saying "we are all animals. We are some apes with greater accomplishments but still we are nothing special, just something random and trivial".
Ok, if that is the case and that is what you truly believe then why you care about anything? Why are there some things that you care about and cannot accept? You should not care about anything or anyone if that is the case and ignore everything that does not affect your life directly. If we are indeed such trivial stuff with no meaning, no purpose, then why are there things that disturb you or make you angry?
What is your opinion about trivializing things? Is everything really this trivial as some people claim or is there more to this?

I think some things should be addressed while others can be trivialized. It really depends on what the issue is. Some are apes? That's rather rude. Something random and trivial? Makes me wonder what you are reading? Who said such a thing?

Well, this is what evolution teaches. We and monkeys are like cousins or brothers and we are all apes. Humans are apes too in the evolutionary theory, not just monkeys.

@celticeagle ok, well then why you asked me "who says that?" if you knew that this is what the theory of evolution says?

In some people's universe, nothing has a specific purpose and there is no creator just random chemical and physical processes going on in the world.
