Keeping the faith

Yes, Reine, it is like that here, too. Those who complain the loudest are the ones who never vote, themselves. It is always someone else's fault when bad things happen, whether to them or to someone else. Many people here believe that their votes don't count since the President is chosen by the electoral college instead of by the popular vote. They think that the popular vote would be easier to understand. (and really, that is true. It is easier to understand what is happening than the proxy votes rendered by the electoral college.) But to ensure the dumbest people don't pick the dumbest person running for president, the popular vote is out. (I still think it looks like the dumbest man running is going to win the election this year. Who would have ever thought Trump could win the Presidency of the United States? Not me!)

that is correct, its better to vote than doing nothing to improve our country

im guilty of not being able to vote. but i do hope and pray that the new officials will make a difference, at least a bit, for this country. and people are going to be more willing to help them out.

We all have to exercise our right of suffrage. Complaining will not help, let's take steps toward changes.

Not voting could put the wrong people in office. Voting is a privilege and people should exercise itm politics is tricky and can get pretty messy.

Voting is a right that so many fought for and we should not take this for granted. I always vote.
