After the voting per se of Filipinos last April 9, the counting of voters started to roll in the Philippines. For God sake, some of my fellowmen are blinded with the charisma of one of candidate for the presidency, Rodrigo Duterte. At this point of time, he is leading the highest score of votes. In my own opinion, he is not the right person to be the leader of my country. I must say I don’t like the way he talks. There are so many controversies circulating in different media about his inappropriate behavior. I can’t imagine how he is going to handle the nation with an attitude problem. I can foresee that there will be another impeachment case will happen in the future if he won to be the president of the Philippines. I'm sorry that you don't like him, my family included but we respect the vote of the majority and we are uniting to support who the next leader will be. As good Filipino citizens we are doing our part not for the president but for our country. A leader will never be a good leader unless its people would support him and Duterte has our support 100%. His opponents have said their part already and they have accepted their defeat and has only respect for the man who will be our next president. That should be the attitude of a true Filipino.

If he changed his way of talking to the public. He shows an animal behavior in the social medias. Is this a person who will represent the country?

@Shavkat Not will, but he is! Don't undermine that person. He is going to be the President in June and there's nothing you can do about it. Respect begets respect. He will have cabinet members and advisers who will teach him to refine his manners. I know a lot of people who doesn't cuss and go to church everyday, but they're not even decent at all. Never judge a person by the way he speaks. Again, respect begets respect.

@toniganzon I am not questioning his capabilities to be the president. As I have said, the manner or attitude is only my concern. I don't mind if he is going to be the president on June. Politics are politics. Are there any changes? I am looking forward how is he going to handle our country. I can see the future Erap Estrada's administration again with the same pattern of ruling the country.

Well I on the other hand am very happy with the turnout of events. I've been following this man's page since he started to run for the presidency and although you dislike his manners (I do too sometimes), I can see more of him than what comes out of his mouth. He's got a really simple and clear platform which even the lay people will understand and although he's being bashed by his brutality, which the media had amplified, he still had done a lot of good things. He's more of the acting man who gets things done. I think we need a tough leader this time. We have been with soft spoken and diplomatic ones but look where it got us? But anyway what's done is done. It's exciting to see what will unfold.

@Shavkat Well you've got a point there. His international relations is not too good at the moment. He's striking controversies against Australia and the US. But anyway internally he managed to unite the rebels in Mindanao. He'll learn diplomacy. He's a smart man.

I hope that he will be more modest in speaking out. I am not questioning his way of governance. But then, it should also be done in a professional way.

Maybe he was just fooling the media and making a mockery out of them being so bias and focus so much on their negative. But now i think he will behave himself, shows his professionalism now that the people had chose him. I didn't vote for him, but some how I want something different too. Lets give him a chance, almost every western media kept making negative reports on him, which something amuses me, it's something threatens them to some one they don't know yet.

April 9? Or May 9. Well, I just hope there's no supporters of Duterte here in myLot. Well, I can feel you but I won't say more to avoid being bashed by anyone of his supporters. Hahaha

Who got in? I don't know anything about Phillipine politics. I have enough trouble following our English politicians. Charisma is a dangerous thing in a leader and can easily sway votes in an election.

Well, I do vote for him in the hope of better management, better future and all. Right now, I still cannot say he is very good but I am still hoping and praying that he can give more to our country and that he will not be the same as the others. We are seeing changes now and I am looking to it positively.

His 'joke' about the Australian woman that was raped and killed way back in the 1980s, he called the Pope SOAB, his 'hidden wealth' for which was not proven and was only a black propagana by the Yellow team. Those are the controversies. Unlike the other 2 male candidates who has tonnes of them.

May 9 election. Anyway, regarding Duterte's presidency, well, let's not be judgemental , I did not vote Duterte, but I still hope for the best of our country, Any president will not do good at his presidency ,If the people are not that cooperative to reach a common goal. Let's just take the advise of our presidential bets that has conceded, let's support who ever wins, and be vigilant .
