Apologies to Ceasar for ripping off his 'Veni, Vidi, Vici'. Yours truly ain't exactly known for original and interesting post titles.
Anyway, if you have lots of myLot connections from the Philippines, you'd known by now that we had our national elections yesterday what with all those posts about voting and candidates. Social media accounts were flooded with inked fingers, long lines of voters under the sweltering heat or inside cramped gymnasiums and classrooms, and reports of voting counting machines that malfunctioned or missing names in the voters list.
I had work yesterday but I was determined to vote. Immediately after my shift ended, I raced to the voting precinct armed with my voter's ID, list of candidates that I'll vote, and lots of patience and common sense! I was rocking my special election shirt and was hoping for the best but was prepared for the worst! I had read and heard reports of people staying in line for a good two to three hours just so they could vote.
Well, I arrived at the precinct a good two hours before it closed and was pleasantly surprised that there were virtually no lines!
The whole process for me to vote took ten minutes! Ten minutes! I capped my voting experience with a snack of steamed buns, ramen, and two bottles of ice-cold beer!!! Liquor ban be damned! Good thing I had a stash!
Of course, the inked finger selfie needs to be taken!

I wonder what the people think now that there was already a winner. There seemed to have more opposition today than ever.

Corruption and cheating would mar the elections results if we did it that way @Genipher .

I wouldn't doubt if we had corruption and cheating by doing it this way, in the U.S.
But most Americans are too lazy to care.
Honestly, I seriously doubt that our votes, in America, are worth anything. In our last Presidential election the President was determined before my state's votes were even tallied. So my vote or "voice" was pretty much moot.
It's sad.

@Genipher well, this is the second time that we are having an automated elections. Canvassing of votes are faster than usual plus voter turnout is really high this year, 81%.
Really happy with the recent events even though my president of choice didn't win.
