What's your stupidest cookery moment?

Putting Bicarb in the Rock cakes at school instead of baking powder was not a prank. I thought they were the same thing. However my biggest silly moment was when a cake went so wrong I tried to FRY it. How about you?

I have many. Boiling eggs till the water runs dry is a speciality of mine.

I cannot remember big failures, but I remember a friend of mine who tried to prepare a vegetable soup and forgot to add the water to the veggies... horrible!

When I was first learning to cook and I got the recipe from my sister how to cook a roast, she forgot to tell me to add water to the kettle, needless to say, I wound up with a shriveled up piece of leather, lol.

That's a great one. Mine was when I was helping my mother bake bread for the first time. She told me to put the cake of yeast into the warm water, a short while later she told me to put the yeast in the dough. I tried to fish the yeast out of the water. Something I will never forget. It's a great memory.

Last summer or so, when I accidentially caused a fire in the microwave-I had no idea that kinda thing actually happens:). Um...beyond that...I've had lots of bad moments cooking;/.

I was boiling eggs for my nephew and forgot that they were on the stove until all the water was gone and they exploded.

Sorry, I can't remember my worst moments in learning how to cook.

That's a good one. I once tried to clean up a mess on a gas stove with a paper towel before I'd turned the burner off. Naturally, the paper towel caught on fire. Thank the Lord for baking soda.
