Save girl child

What is today's generation opinion? If you would deliver a baby girl one fine morning what would be your response and that of your spouse. Kindly comment and spread awareness. Honest opinions please.

I'd like to know in which country you live. Your question sounds rather strange to European ears.

The OP is from India. A girl for sure. The name tells me that the information I provide should be correct.

Same for us Americans. Most people here are just happy to have a healthy baby, no matter the gender.

Gendercide is happening in a lot of countries and some are paying big time for all this stupidity. I really don't know what they're thinking to do such a thing to begin with.

I appreciate all the responses but like @MALUSE and @Genipher – I find the question very odd and rather disturbing. Aren't girl babies as human as boy babies? Why would you prefer one over the other?

I'm from india. And some of indian parents are aborting their pregnancies if they are aware that they are going to have a baby girl. They abandon the newly born baby child on streets or even sometimes kill them. In indian marriages, girls parents have to pay a particular amount of money depending upon their social status to the boy's family. This practice is called dowry and is practised from decades in India. However these days due to modernisation many of them are racing voices against dowry and awareness is spread among most of them to avoid giving dowry. Even the government has issued severe punishment for those who give and take dowry. But unfortunately still in some of the rural areas due to illiteracy this practice is still seen. Hence my question was to all indians to spread awareness.

All children are gifts from God. If they are born, you take care of them and raise them the best you can.

Well, since I have two girls, obviously I am very happy to have them. I would never have wished for them to be boys, because that is not important, in my opinion. I think it is important to have healthy, happy and loving children.

just tell me one thing why we need this kind of articles....because we think that if a women deliver a baby girl then their family will be not happy as if he deliver boy. i think if 90% this men dominating society is responsible then 10% girls are also responsible .....why they suffer this kind of criticism?? why dont they raise their voice?? they are nothing less than boys ...then why dont they make their image as weak and soft??
11 May 16
Here I'm collecting opinions to know what people think as on today about this topic not because we girls are soft or weak. And this post is for men and women equally who under estimate a woman not to a guy like you. I'm happy that you have a good opinion
11 May 16
Just post your opinion and do not bother about women equality and their weakness because this post is not considering all this. I only need opinions not criticism or anything else.
