What is this plant? I know what I was told, but I'm doubting what they said. Anyway, Baja Citrus is the name of a marinade I found several months ago, and I love it. Any products you want to share? I used it on chicken, fish, and pork chops and it's all good. To me, it's best on chicken, then fish. I used coconut oil in the marinade because it's healthier. Feel free to share because I love trying new products.

I'm not a flower expert, but I'm wondering if it's hollyhocks. As for marinades, Jack Daniels has an excellent marinade. For spices I use Mrs. Dash.

@just4him That's what @GardenGerty says, and she knows plants. I had no idea, but you and Heather knew!

You have hollyhocks it would appear. They reseed themselves every year. If there is more than one color around, the bees will create a hybrid for you. I make a four spice blend, and it is for health but tastes great, slightly warm. I put equal parts cumin, turmeric, black pepper and ginger together. It is very good on almost anything, including eggs. or cottage cheese. The spicy hot effect comes form the ground ginger. This is an anti inflammatory and it also fights germs, strengthens the heart. The herb teacher is the one who suggested the first three. She talks about the synergy of three. I added the ginger on my own.

A lady in a different part of my complex planted seeds on this ground, right outside another woman's apartment, as a nice thing to do. One, it's grown so much it hits people as they walk into the breezeway although maintenance ties it back, and two she said it was a tomato plant. Which this didn't look like any I'd seen.

@AmbiePam Though I like salads including chicken salad I avoid making egg salad. What other ingredients do you use in addition to egg and turmeric in egg salad?

I'm bad at remembering plant names. So sorry. I use a lot of virgin olive oil, garlic, fresh rosemary, and whatever in my cooking. I stopped using sour cream and substitute plain Greek yogurt with fresh chives on our baked potatoes.

Greek yogurt seems to have an amazing amount of versatility, plus it's great it's healthier. I bet you are a great cook!

@AmbiePam It is healthy. I've been told by many that I'm a gourmet cook, but I cook as little as possible. Lol!

Sounds interesting. I can't think of any products I use that anyone would need to know about. My life has gotten very simple lately. I don't use many prepared products anymore. I cook from scratch and use a lot of real fruit and vegetables in my cooking. I do love Paul Newman's Olive Oil and Vinegar salad dressing, not just for salads but as a marinade. That's probably one of the only products I buy that is pre-made.

I look for meals with 3 ingredients or less. It's just too expensive, as you know. I don't use flower, sugar, or butter. And these days when I buy veggies and fruits I eat them before they ruin. You just can't waste this expensive stinking food!

@AmbiePam You're right there! Tonight I"m making a pork chop with a baked sweet potato and a salad. Iced tea to drink and I'm all set! Simple, quick and nothing will be wasted.

I use garlic quite a bit. Italian seasoning and garlic with a little parmesan is great too.

I don't use many seasonings except for the steak barbeque seasoning. I like to do a dry rub with that, and its good on a lot of thing, even chicken.
