No 9th season for Castle

I just saw an article online that says Castle will not be returning for a 9th season as previously indicated. It was supposed to be its 9th season but now, nope. I guess it's better to end it now than to try and do a 9th season without Beckett. I'm not surprised by the other shows listed as cancelled. The only one I am disappointed about (other than Castle) is CSI:Cyber. I loved that show.
Law & Order:SVU escaped that hatchet and will be returning. The way things were going with Olivia's character I was beginning to think it was coming to an end.

@patgalca I watch dancing with the stars but other than home or cooking shows no other reality.

ABC did a slaughter canceling many shows. It was thought Castle with just Nathan Fillion and Nashville would return. NBC is hard up for any shows having a ratings pulses and SVU does well enough.

@patgalca The NCIS shows get solid ratings. CSI Cyber was canceled. Criminal Minds Beyond Borders is up in the air. They just renewed Criminal Minds.

@JohnRoberts I only like NCIS Los Angeles. Not sure why. NCIS New Orleans bugs me because the accents seem so fake. Criminal Minds Beyond Borders is too new to make that decision yet. Criminal Minds has withstood the change of characters many times but they have had to keep bringing them back due to fan demands (JJ, Emily). It will be interesting to see how they survive without Derek. No more CSIs on the air now.

I think the only surprise to me was Sleepy Hollow being renewed. I don't watch it, but apparently the finale killed off one of the main characters, and the ratings were low. They would have botched Castle without Stana, don't you think? It's a shame it didn't end on good terms with the two main actors. I like them both.

@AmbiePam I have never heard of Sleepy Hollow. Yes, Castle wouldn't have been the same without Beckett so better to end it. The news that the relationship between the two actors explains why their story line went the way it did (breaking up their marriage right after it started). That frustrated me but when they did finally get married and get back together the chemistry was a little off. Now I know why.

@Marilynda1225 I like Castle too but it wouldn't be the same without Beckett so better to just let it go.
