I know for many people around the country and this world this won't really mean anything but for the residents of Connecticut this is amazing news. It means that we will no longer have to drive to New York or Boston to get an international flight. While direct flights will only go to Dublin, from Dublin you can connect to most of the rest of Europe and the prices that I saw were extremely reasonable. I am one happy camper or should I say flier?

That is great you will have an international airport now out of Hartford and you can fly to Ireland and then the rest of Europe wherever you want to go. I imagine people there are extremely happy about that.

@BelleStarr If they tried it before it must not have worked out so hoping this works.

@Marcyaz They offered Aer Lingus some financial perks and there are some businesses that have local and Dublin offices so there is more hope this time.Last time the price of fuel went up and so did flight prices and it killed traffic.

Yes they have tried this before. Northwest flew to Amsterdam for a few months and we did take a flight with them.

That's great news to me! We'll be flying out of Westchester to Florida, since it's small and close by. I Wish Bradley would do more international flights. It is about 50 minutes from us.

Dublin really is a hub so it will I think eventually take off and provide great service to most of Europe. I do like Westchester it is such a nice small airport.

@BelleStarr Westchester is easy on and easy off. I only like direct flights when possible. Delta flies out of Bradley, too, and it was a pleasure.

I am not quite sure but it will certainly make it easier and less expensive to do so.

Here it is difficult to fly to Boston from Hartford so we can't even connect that way.

Hartford is a big insurance hub so that will generate some clients. I hope it is a success.
