2015 – Revolutions – Manchester Speculative Fiction Press Spoiler alerts Manchester in the near future disintegrates into a racist state that makes South African Apartheid look positively liberal. It is a brutal draconian measure to combat immigration and population. Many non-Caucasians are forced to leave the country, in a compulsory long walk through the old and now otherwise disused Channel Tunnel. The heroes are in a shanty-town campsite scheduled for violent eviction, but they work out how to save some of their friends to escape at least for a time from the terrible deportation laws. It seems rather too easy a loophole answer that such an extreme authoritarian regime would surely be able to get round. Disturbing but very much in favour of the Resistance movement. Arthur Chappell
