In the past 150 years North Dakota has been an all human predator zone, then one day a very greedy rancher saw a wolverine so he shot him dead. The kritter was sportin a tag put on him since 2008 and that rancher didn't see fit to make sure it would have killed one of his cattle before killin it.
Hummmm, so just how big is a wolverine?
Do you still think we don't need gun control?

I sure do wish you were wrong @Hanyouyomi but like I said, Mother Nature WILL get even with us .... so far we've only seen the small stuff, I hope the biggies happen after I'm gone.

It is a shame that the rancher killed it. I am sorry to hear this.

@rebelann I wonder if they will be able to track where the wolverine come from and possibly find more?

There should be laws to protect animals, specially those in danger.

@rebelann Cattle can be kept inside a fence. Wild animals cannot.

I agree @marguicha too bad that a lot of ranchers have bullied our government into allowing them to graze their cattle on public park lands, it offends me to think they get away with that.

Yeah, that and ..... ok, I'm meaner than you are ..... a life prison term. He doesn't have the right to raise livestock for slaughter then kill an animal because it looks like it might harm what he plans on killing anyway. These kinds of people must be put out of business, they give those ranchers who are willing to live in harmony with nature a bad name.

It maybe their livelihood but the government compensates ALL ranchers for the loss of livestock due to predatory kills made by wolves or other animals.
I have much more sympathy with endangered wildlife than I do with any rancher who is given all kinds of rights to insure they don't lose money on their livestock, they are even allowed to let their cattle graze on PUBLIC LANDS, that to me is an insult since those lands are not a private grazing area.
I copied the following from the Defenders of Wildlife website:
"Male wolverines are typically 30-40% larger than females.
Height: 16 inches (males); 14 inches (females)
Length: 31-44 inches (including its bushy tail)
Weight: 25-55 lbs (males), 15-30 lbs (females). Exceptionally large males can weigh more than 70 lbs.
Lifespan: 10-12 years"
Too many ranchers can be blamed for the demise of many of the wildlife we used to have. Many species are already extinct.
