I'm No Gold Digger

This afternoon a man approached me and told me I was hot. To which I politely said "thank you" as I walked away. And he asked if he could have my number. To which I politely said "no". Then he told me, "well come on give it to me. I have a Ferrari and a lambourgini. I'm rich." I was really irked off at this point. Some people stereotypes Asians as gold diggers. Which is totally unfair as not everyone's a gold digger. Luckily someone stepped in and told him to "fish off". Do money really change a person's attraction meter? For me it doesn't at all.

I can't help but say that some guys who flaunt their money and cars are making up for *ahem* other things

True enough. Making up for ugly faces and uglier hearts. Gee he's making himself appear so desperate. By making me say no to him a lot of times. And resulting to seemingly buying me with money.

@Daljinder You should pity the women he harasses using the same pick up line. I don't know if someone's even greedy enough to take the bait.

I mean I didn't like being called hot by a stranger but I gracefully said thank you to him. But he should at least take a cue he's not my type by the look on my face and by my "no". I'm just too polite to run away.

@flapiz And I hope no one falls for his selfish act too! And who knows if he's rich anyway! Just can be pretending to lure girls in.

@infatuatedbby Based on ocular inspection he doesn't look rich. And even if he does it's a turn off that he thinks he can buy me.

And imagine how many girls turned him down. He's disgusting and disrespectful. No self respecting woman would take him up for his offer.

Some people claim that these days one needs to be “practical” so they also look for a partner who is financially capable, too. Which is a bit sad... Today many of us end up nearly worshipping money that it affects their perspective of others.

Yeah I get that a lot here. Like foreigners think that Filipinos are gold diggers and really it's insulting for me. Shame on those who used other people for money. They are destroying our good reputation.

@anachroniSaM Yeah still happens up to date. So it's up to us to prove them wrong and prove our worth as mates.

@flapiz for one thing, we can't actually blame them (foreigners) for having such mindset towards us Filipinos. because the “gold-digging” still happens to some of them, don't they? that's what makes everything worse because we end up getting generalized as gold-diggers. :(

@flapiz He is not worth it. Walking away is key and as long as you are safe too! Glad that other person stepped in.

I wanted to give it to him. A dozen of punches that is. If only I'm not too gentle he'd get a bruise from me.

This kind of scenario happens to me a lot of times here. Apparently some Asians have made a bad reputation for extorting money from older guys or any citizen here. Very shallow indeed. And it's quite insulting that he'd think I'd dig him just because he's fancy.

Hey, you are hot! I own a hardly used wallet, most of my own teeth, and half a packet of partially melted chocolates (which I am willing to share) Can I have your number?

Money doesn't make anyone more attractive to me either. Money comes and goes-how someone treats others is what matters.

True and I think treating others as a buyable commodity isn't really a good way to treat any person.
