Using profile pictures of legends and coming up with controversial posts / myLot

Ok...I saw this fellow countryman who has used the picture of a legendary cricketer as his profile picture. Then he comes up with a post that the icon would never have supported. Do you think there should be some way to legally restrain such usage? And will it create complications of myLot?

I feel strongly that MyLotters should not use other people's photos as their avatars. It's just so wrong, even if what they write is not controversial.

Even I felt so. In any event, GAA removed the post, so that controversial stuff was gone, and all is well. lol

I don't think there is going to be much of a legal issue in using that image for a social network profile image. Even while posing controversial views

If it is a copyright photo then it could be removed. Even so, just associating an image with a post contrary to the image is wrong.

@hora_fugit .. Not about you...it is about a guy who used Sachin Tendulkar's picture, and then went about bashing muslim's for repressing their women folk. I felt that can hurt the image of the person who comes out as a clean and balanced person.

Especially if they are not using their own pictures as profile pictures. If they want to come up with something controversial, they should have guts to use their own pictures instead of using others pictures. Cowards.

@vandana7 Thanks Vannyji, In India sometimes media dont have any news. so they create news by mockery. Baseless affairs are brought into picture. Before the film Jagga Jasoos was released it was flashed that Ranbir Kapoor was having affair with Katrina Kaif. Now media says they have separated. Unfortunately the mass is swayed out with bogus gossips in India.

Some people do use pictures of others and some use icon pictures in their profile in both social media sites and in myLot. It would be good to use one's own picture if possible.

@vandana7 Picture of Lion with a quote on it. Alex came and removed two more posts of his. He said to block him and if he continues to trouble me and tag me inform him. He will have a talk with him. He said although some were heated but not abusive, others were abusive.
