Have you told white lies ever?

Most people have ever told lies for various reasons. Doctors or family members may tell the terminally ill patients that their situations are not as worse as they image. The crooks use lies to con people into felling for their scams. You may hide the truth to your friends while comforting them and you may also tell your kids that they are excellent even though they disappoint you again and again… In a word, there are so many lies in our daily life, some of them are white lies but the others are not.
For me, I would tell my parents in the phone that I am well no matter what kinds of situation I 'm in. And I would also tell my grandparents that they will live to a ripe old age although their health is increasingly worse. But I also tell some lies for my own interests and I will do some self-examination.

lies, no matter how white they are, are still considered lies. it is inherent in us to give white lies to protect ourselves or others.

@ridingbet Just imagine that this kind of machine is invented to make the world an absolute real one, it can be dubbed "lies elimination machine" Well,as we know, it seems impossible.

I think silence is just silence, keeping silence has nothing to do with telling lies, but it may imply that things are not going to be good and the situation is not optimistic.

@Bluedoll If such cases do occur, we are likely to say I don't want to tell you anything about this matter since it's my personal affairs or it has nothing to do with you.

Everyone lies , it doesn't make it right but at times it has to be done...not only to comfort others but oursrselves too

What if whom i lied reads this ...
My bestie and i went through some crazy time ...I used to say "We'll do fine" although we were definately not fine. But we made it with time !!! It was an assurance to both of us and it worked

Like everyone else I occasionally don't tell the whole truth. I might eat a dish that a friend makes even if I didn't care for it so as not to hurt their feelings.

So do I.When you are invited to a dinner by your friends, it's a good strategy to mention the dishes you like only, and let the ones you dislike alone.

SometimesI tell white lies. Like when relatives come for a visit, they would ask, aren't you bored here at your home? I replied no, though sometimes I am really bored.

I think white lies are essential in our life since the crucial role of protecting us emotionally or our relationships.
