I've seen a lot of photos on the site some personal, some Pixabay, and other free image sites.
However, are you aware Shutterstock is not free image? When you click on the image to bring up the downloading information it will give you the cost and that you must include the citation about the image.
When you post a Shutterstock image with its watermark across it, you have not paid for it, nor cited it.
When posting images that are not your own make certain they are free to use and public domain.
When you go to Pixabay, the first line of images is always from Shutterstock. Those are not free to use.
Thanks for reading.

Good advice... I agree with you...but I also think its very misleading of shutterstock to high jack the first two lines of pixabay.... I should imagine it confuses people and are unaware like you said...that shutterstock images...even though they are on the pixabay page...are not free....

I've only noticed it for the first line. However, I don't use them.

I have seen several posts with pictures that have 'Shutterstock' across it. I wondered about it. Didn't think any of those were free to use. I hope everyone is aware of the laws on photos. I know that I wasn't for a long time.

@celticeagle I didn't think they did. I didn't see anything about it in the guidelines, but I've been seeing a lot of photos from shutterstock so I thought I would give people a heads up.

Good plan. Now that I have my own camera, I'm starting to do the same.

Yes, and they need to be careful about that first line of images on Pixabay, they're all Shutterstock.

It's a good practice and now that I have a camera, most of mine are too.

It would be a good way to earn some money since people need to pay for their use.
