1965 - Blazing Combat - Spoiler alerts A very grizzly US Civil War story of enormous power as a general anti-war statement. A Southern soldier finds himself alone as his platoon is decimated around him. He expects to die too at any second. The lone Confederate sniper who has killed his colleagues offers him an unexpected truce. He promises not to shoot while the man offers the dead a decent Christian burial. He even comes out of hiding to help dig the graves. He knows the area is dominated by wild pigs who would eat the corpses and he has no desire to witness the bodies being devoured that way. As they work on the graves, the men start arguing bitterly over which side started the war, and as a result they start fighting again, only to kill each other as the pigs move towards them. Brutal and simple but devastatingly effective story telling. Arthur Chappell

@Jessicalynnt such a dumb movie - it might work as a comedy but they tried to do it seriously
