A Week Of Rain

It’s raining here right now. The forecast calls for rain all week long. Like my brother said when he was out on a fishing boat in Alaska. He said, “All I saw was water, water, water.” Well, all I see right now is rain, rain, rain. And more rain. Unlike my brother, I can expect to see something other than rain. It’s called sunshine. I think my brother was hoping to see a mermaid. Something that wasn’t going to happen. At least not while he was awake. Oh, yes I’m awake. I’m not dreaming rain. It is wet, wet, wet. And it’s a nice forty-eight degrees Fahrenheit (9º C) outside. I need to go down and check my mailbox but I’ve been waiting for a break in the rain. Maybe I’ll dig out the umbrella I got from work shortly before the job ended. The thing has been hiding in my closet ever since I got it. It’s still in its plastic wrap. It wouldn’t hurt it to take it on it’s maiden voyage. Ahoy fellow sailors! I’m either going to get my mail or drown.

Oh that is so not fair! It's down to low 70s now (maybe less, it's actually kinda gray and cold) - but I don't see any signs of rain at all. Well when you go out to your mailbox, get your biggest envelope out to send us that rain. Maybe your brother has a better chance of seeing that mermaid than we do seeing any rain!

The rain has slowed down so I need to get my buns out of here and check the mail. I'll do my "sent it to southern California" dance on my way to the mailbox. Hope that will help.

@RichardMeister And don't forget the chocolates! And perhaps a video of you doing that dance too!

@much2say No video of the dance. That's just to keep you from realizing how whacky I really am. I wouldn't want you to see me dancing like Elaine on Seinfeld! Chocolates? I'm sorry the woman delivering my mail ate the chocolates. I'll have to send them another day.

It never ceases to amaze me how some parts of our country need rain so desperately and other parts get too much rain. I don't understand how that happens. And yet, I'm glad we can't completely regulate the weather. I'm sure that would be a disaster!

Have you ever heard of HAARP? They are sending radio waves out into the stratosphere which is supposably pushing it farther out from the earth. It is also believed this is causing changes in the weather. Some also believe this is causing drought in many areas around the world. Some even believe this is done on purpose in order to cause a food shortage which will in turn cause thousands of people to die of starvation. That's not to say I totally believe all of this, it's just something to think about. There is a program called HAARP and they are sending millions of radio waves into the stratosphere. That much is fact.

@CRK109 Of course the scientists say all they are doing is trying to send radio waves out to see if they can contact other beings in space.

@RichardMeister wow, news to me. How do I miss these things? If it's true, it's horrible. I need to look into this, even though I'm a skeptic. But, as you say, it's something to think about. And shudder. Although it makes the upcoming election seem not so bad all of a sudden. lol

Lol I hope you didn't drown! I love the rain and I wish it would rain here more often. It would help with the humid weather around here.

I made it to my mailbox and back without drowning. I thought you Floridians loved your sunshine.

When I was growing up the saying was, "April showers bring May flowers." At this rate that will have to be changed to, "May showers bring June flowers." You're in Australia so you're going into your winter months, right?
