Eyes are important organs of the human body. We read we enjoy the beauty of nature, we interact seeing the people, we appreciate paintings, we read and we write all with the WINDOWS OF THE SOUL we call them. We shoul take appropriate care of our most precious assets 'eyes'. There are herbs that give healthy eyes. Let us have a look at the following; Eyebright: This herb is used in most of the tinctures, eye drops, and teas that are available in regular food stores. The eye drops of this herb are very good in making recovery from conjunctivitis. GINKGO; IMPROVES the blood flow to the retina. Improves vision in the people suffering from Glaucoma. This is also antioxidant and protects nerve cells. GREEN TEA; It contains antioxidants. This is very good for glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. It effectively protects the retina and prevents it's damage from u.V radiation. Research studies show that garlic very effectively prevents cataract, and Turmeric contains the antioxidant curcumin that protects against cataract formation. Most of the eye problems appear simple and will aggravate with the old age. One should take proper checkup of their eye at regular intervals to avoid further complications. Taking good diet, proper health checkup, timely sleep, proper washing of eyes, approproate allocation of time for reading, using proper light while reading, using good sunglasses during summer and wearing a hat to minimize eye exposure to the sun etc., are important tools for maintaining healthy eyes.
