Do You Believe This?

One of my biggest pet peeves is the use of the cell phone at inappropriate times; ie: driving, movie theaters, crowded bus, church, classroom, etc. Below you will see a video of a female West Point cadet who is marching during graduation, texting using her dang cell phone. Now I'm sorry, but isn't this a very special occasion? This is a 'military procession' of graduating cadets from a prestigious academy and she can't WAIT? How rude and disrespectful. I sure the heck wouldn't want to be next to her on the front lines of an engagement.

Yes Nanette and Alfredo, it is a very sad state of mind. Totally unacceptable in my books.

That is ridiculous. I hate when we are in church and someone's phone rings in the middle of service. I find it so disrespectful.

Exactly @LovingMyBabies . Of all places, you would think it wouldn't happen in a church. I guess the pastor has to put a SIGN out front but then again, to some people, it wouldn't make a difference.

Some people just don't have a clue when to use their cell phone or rather when not to use a cell phone. The cadet who was on her cell phone during the march was being very discourteous to her fellow cadets and I can honestly say I am not impressed with her at all.

People have lost the ability to understand what it is important and what is not and they surely have lost good manners.

@nanette64 The Veterans are right, we should at least try to show some respect.

Well, that's weird. The link was working before. I am a cell-phone hater @PainsOnSlate . I think the only time they should be used is in emergencies.

@PainsOnSlate Good idea cause you never know when the car would break down or something serious would happen. Consumer Cellular and Jitterbug have plans for seniors that start at $10 a month.

I believe it only because I saw that picture myself last night. So disrespectful! I would kick her out of the military if I was her commanding officer for simple stupidity...anyone with half a brain would know better than to text in that situation.

I can't believe that it wasn't stipulated before the march @Tampa_girl7 . But then again, apparently this girl doesn't have common sense.

The video link is not working for me. When my daughter's boyfriend graduated from Marine boot-camp, he did a little wave to his parents, who were attending the ceremony. He got chewed out; his dad got a great shot of the sergeant screaming in his face.

With cellphones in their hands, most of them think they are the best photographer on the planet. many others feel that they can listen to music on speakers anytime anywhere (and some dont even spare the hospitals). And then, when you are watching a Movie at the theater, they suddenly want to see what o'clock is it or even see if anyone has called them... ridiculously insane and one of the finest breeds of people who have yet to learn manners.

That should be allowed. I hate cell phones, I am tired of listening to conversations I don't need or want to hear. I have one, yes, and it is put away in the dining room. It is for emergency only - like if we have a disaster. I am not important enough to have one attacked to my ear thank God.
