Looking at the World Through the Eyes of a Child

During art lesson a kindergarten teacher noticing one of her wards so focus on his work, it arouse her curiosity. "What are you drawing?" she ask. Still continuing to draw, the little boy replied "I'm drawing God." His answer drew a smile on the teacher's face. Children do have wild imagination she thought to herself. "But...no one knows what God looks like." She persisted. The stubby fingers stop drawing momentarily as the child thought for a second. Then looking up to his teacher he answered, "They will now as soon as I finish my drawing!" Two things children have a great abundance of, curiosity and imagination. Sadly, through our education system we manage to discourage them from using these innate abilities. No doubt out of "good intentions". We want to prepare them for the "REAL" world. A world that requires one to be practical and compliant to accepted standards of behavior. One important requirement is learning how to "fit in" and not be a "square peg among round holes". One of our dogs was furiously scratching herself with her hind leg and creating a steady cadence of thumping noise on our wooden floor. "Why is Beckett doing that grandma?" Zac ask me. (The boy on my profile photo) "She's itchy. I think it's time for her bath" I answered. "Can't you see her laughing grandma? Beckett is tickling herself." caught me off-guard. I took a closer look at our pet. With her tongue hanging out of her mouth and the corners of her upper lip turn upwards, Beckett did appear to be wearing a silly grin. Have a good day and never stop looking at the world with childlike wonder and awe. Image:

When were kids, its seemed simplier and happier and the imagination is just pure and innocent. until we started growing up that is.

@Letranknight2015 _Have you ever ask yourself why even as adults we enjoy watching movies like Star Wars and the Harry Potter series? Deep inside us is still that innocent child full of wonderment.

@Lucky15 _Adults should also listen to what children have to say. Kids can be smarter than us as proven by TV shows like "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?"

I'd prefer Beckett to be tickling herself. Shows that she's a happy dog.

That's why I like to talk to little children because of their innocence and honesty.

@Macarrosel _Sadly, they eventually grow up and lost their innocence. Gone are the days when they speak from the heart.

We often 'borrow' a grandchild - we don't have any of our own - to take to the circus or the zoo. It seems to be much more fun to have a young person along with all their wonder and excitement.

@JudyEv _ I enjoy surrounding myself with children for that reason too. It takes so little to have a wonderful time with them.

Children can really have wild imaginations that's why they. think like that , differently from adults . It's so nice to ask how they see things because it will not be what you think it. to be like ours .

@josie_ That's how children are , inquisitive , questioning one after another . It surely will test one's patience .

@SIMPLYD _Sometimes my grandchildren can be very "makulit" constantly badgering me with repeated questions that try one's patience. Then I have to remind myself I was once like them.

i agree, our educational systems 're much to be desired. they tend to squash dreams 'n rid one'f independent thought :( that's adorable, what'cher grandson took from that pup scratchin'. yepperz, one needs to stop e'ery now 'n then, take a breathe 'n think how a young'un'd perceive schtuff :)

@crazyhorseladycx _I'm proud of my grandchildren. They speak their mind. Something I encourage them to do. We have a saying. "Kapag nasa katuwiran ka, ipaglaban mo." (If you believe your are right, fight for it.) I am confident that despite the drawbacks of our educational system. This attitude will stand them in good stead. I want to believe I have contributed something to their upbringing but I definitely have learn many things from my grandchildren too.

@josie_ i hope that'cher contributions don't lead the path that such went with ours, lol. sometimes they're too adamant where's they need to sit'n listen :D fergettin' there's that invisible line one must follow 'n order to stay outta the principals office.

@crazyhorseladycx _They're good kids. Well behave. So far only one was ever in the principal's office and it was a case of mistaken identity. A ball broke one of the school windows but it turn out to be another boy's fault. But as for me during my young unruly school days, the principal's office was a very familiar place.

We can be childlike too but let us not be childish. I like to see the clouds and that makes me childlike

@Yar_Joey _ There are people who have not grown out of their immature ways. Maybe a topic for a future discussion. laying on the ground and cloud watching on a warm sunny day is a good activity to indulge in especially if your have little children to describe them.
