A collection of Stamps for a keen Philatelist

Oh I am over the moon, yesterday the postman filled the postbox with my favourtie goodies. POSTCARDS>
yes not just one, but a few. During the week I shall present them to everyone but for now, I must just say, I am the talk of my little town with the wonderful greetings from all over the world.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the postcard sending team - You are putting me on the map so to say!!
In another surprise, my post-crossing postcards of our beautiful wild-life have been chosen as favorites - very exciting for my profile there!
This pleasure started as a little girl, steaming stamps off letters my mom would get from her grandmother who lived far away. I eventually started writing my own little scribbles at age 5 and had the joy of my grandmother writing back to me.
So stamps have been with me for over 50 years and I have a lovely collection. In recent years I decided to start the postcard sending, that way I get a beautiful card and stamps. It has most definitely panned out for me.
These stamps for attached to my postcard featured from West Virginia - I love the "Papillon" or in plain English "Butterfly" added sticker.
I never thought I would get so excited about my postbox like I have of late!

@Jessicalynnt I think they do commemorative things in the country - we have themes here as well - We just have the Aviation celebration and now its Birds

My late relative was a keen Philatelist. They don't appear to sell in the UK though, so I'm landed with all the volumes of stamps. I may auction them off.

i reckon i need to get involved'n all this global card sendin' myself. no doubt the post lady'd be delighted if'n i bothered to check my box more'n once a week, lol. used to've quite'n 'xtensive stamp collection myself, started 'bout the same time's yer fascination with such.
i wonder if'n the postal service still's 't so ya can make yer own stamps? ya know, usin' yer own pics? hmmm, perhaps i'll recall to hunt down their url 'n see if'n such's still possible.

I know what you mean! It's so exciting to get them! I always share with my mom and sister because they get a lot of pleasure too. My mom is shaky at writing but did send one off and is hoping to get one herself! She is going to use her vintage cards that she has collected over the last 80 years that were never used.
