Poppy Seed effect

I thought it was all fallacy, but in actual fact I am living proof - well barely, that the poppy seeds in the muffins, or cakes most definitely have and effect on ones behaviour.
We have a new German delicatessen in town, and their plum torte is just fabulous . . . however this Tuesday, on display was a speckled poppy seed vanilla chocolate cake . . . asking to be tried!
So I did - that was Tuesday and Wednesday I had another slice . . .my children as well as my bowling friends have said they have noticed a little too much bounce in my step as well as a speed in my speech . . so I did what I always do . . . I googled it!
"In 1990, a police officer in St. Louis with an exemplary work record underwent a random drug test and was suspended after it came back positive for opiate use. He had eaten four poppy seed bagels the day before the test."
the answers are not clear - but it seems that the poppy seed slice of cake could have done a little HYPE to me, and I have not yet returned home!
Am I poppy high?
Have you ever experienced something like that?

I don't know about poppy seeds but that's a grand building in the photo.
