Going to the movies...

We don't really do it very often. I much prefer to watch movies in the comfort of my own home. There are occasions where I will make exceptions though, such as when it's a series that I really love and just can't wait to see. I saw every Harry Potter movie in theaters because I'm a huge fan. My daughter and I saw the last few Hunger Games movies in theaters because we are both fans and the movies came out on or near her birthday. Tonight I"ll be making another exception, and the whole family will be going to see Alice Through The Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, and Captain America Civil War... Yep, all 3 movies in 1 night!! Because, another one of my exceptions is when it's at the drive in!! We try to go to the drive in once a year when they have some good movies playing. They'll usually do a double or triple feature, it only costs $8 per person to get in, so it's a really good deal, and we're making some nice memories for the kids. Captain America is the movie we're most excited to see as we are big fans of the Avengers.. but that's the movie that doesn't even start until midnight!! Well, think it's time for all of us to take a little nap so we can make it through our movies tonight!!

I remember when there were drive-in movies in nearly every town. Now they are virtually all gone.

@katsmeow1213 I think there is one left in Perth and maybe one or two in the far north.

I really liked all 3 of the movies. We'll probably see them all again when they're on video.

That is really neat! I hope your family enjoys all of the movies. I wish we could find something like that here-I will have to search.

I think drive in's are making a come back. There are 2 in our area.. but we tend to only go once per year due to schedules and what they have playing. A lot of times it's shows we're not interested in.

Sounds like a good time! Like you, I prefer watching movies at home - we have Apple TV and On Demand, but just the same, some movies are best experienced in theatres. We wtached Captain America Civil war in 3D and it was well worth it.

Normally I'd wait until it were on video, but you can't beat 3 movies for the price of 1, especially when I want to see Alice Through the Looking Glass and Captain America... Jungle Book looks good too, but I'm not quite as excited about that one.

Yep, I brought a lot of snacks, and we stopped for ice cream on the way there. Only thing we bought there was popcorn cause hubby always insists on getting popcorn there.

I loved the "Drive In Movies" but there are none around where I live anymore. I can't even remember what the last movie I saw in the theater, it was ages ago. I"ve missed you, glad to see you here, I may have missed you because of needing to paint I haven't been around a lot either.

I am on so rarely these days.. We actually have 2 drive in's nearby.. one of them is a bit of a hike, but we look to see what each are playing each weekend. We seem to only go once per year to the drive in, and it changes each year as to which one we'll go to.. it depends on what they're showing. Last year we saw Inside Out, Minions, and Cinderella.

As much as I do enjoy watching movies at home, it is nice to treat ourselves and the kids to the movies. I hope you guys have fun when you go see the movies.
