My house smells of Kahlua...

I bought myself a new (to me) Yankee Candle wax tart a few days ago - as a huge lover of coffee I just had to have it once the name Cappuccino Truffle jumped out at me. It didn't take long to arrive and luckily my previous tart was just coming to an end so it was literally in the burner within minutes of arriving in the house! It's really lovely and highly recommended - it's not a strong coffee fragrance which I was expecting but really does smell like one of my favourite coffee liqueurs. I'm a tiny bit disappointed with how far I can (or rather, can't) smell the fragrance, this is a fairly thin open-plan house but the coffee smell doesn't really travel much further than the living room - and it's actually rather weak in there too. Not sure I'll buy it again even if I DO love the smell, it was slightly more expensive than average for a wax tart so the lack of fragrance is a bit of a kick in the teeth. Nice to have a room that smells like my favourite alcohol though...

I have a recipe to make Kahlua, it's really quite good and much less expensive to make than to buy.

@fishtiger58 Oh yes, that would be lovely thank you! And thanks for the tip about no recipes on here - I hadn't realised about that!

oh my gosh! I'll have to look for one of those. I LOVE Kahlua! And I love coffee, too. I know that Yankee Candles are quite expensive. We have a small shop not far from where I live. And I've been to their main store up in Massachusetts. It's HUGE! Can't leave that place empty handed. But it's nice to know the name of that candle. I also love their Sun & Sand Candles. They basically smell like suntan lotion, but the smell really does remind me of the beach, so I have a small candle here that I've been burning so I can close my eyes and think I'm at the beach! lol

I'm burning a Sun & Sand wax tart as I speak, it's perfect for the hot weather we're having in the UK at the moment!

You are lucky you can smell, I lost my sense of smell years ago, and it is pretty upsetting.

I have never tried Kahlua, I love coffee, but nothing made with coffee, no matter if it's a liquor,a cake or an ice cream.

@chrisandmark It's weird, I wonder why we have this odd problem, to be honest I also prefer the chocolate as is and no ice cream or cakes with chocolate, with only a very few exceptions for the cakes.

I'm like that with chocolate @LadyDuck - I love chocolate itself but nothing made with it so no chocolate ice cream, cake, milkshakes etc...

I've never heard of a wax tart, and I certainly wouldn't like yours - I don't like coffee or liqueurs. Sorry you found it disappointing,
