Eating a Friendship Meal

My mom gets meals delivered daily from Friendship Meals. It's, I assume, like Meals on Wheels.
Each day they bring her a balanced meal and a few packets of powdered milk.
Mom is very picky what she thinks she can't eat. She can't eat red meat, onions, lettuce, or tomatoes just to name a few things.
When she gets meals with those things, which is about half of the time, she gives them to us to eat.
I don't know why she gets the meals other than they are free for her and she does so many things because they are free. She only eats maybe half of the meals that she gets and they are to be for her, not us. On Friday they bring her at least 5 meals to make it through the weekend.
Today they brought salisbury steak with gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy, diced peaches, a small lettuce salad, and a roll. I was going to eat it but she had already heated up this other meal that she didn't know what it was. I am eating it instead. It appears to maybe be some sort of taco soup--it has beans, tomatoes and ground beef in some sort of sauce anyway. It's pretty good. I put the other meal in the fridge and hubby will eat it for his supper tonight I'm sure.
Sure, there are foods that I avoid some such as red meat too. It doesn't sit well in my system, well, it does just that, sits. Onions, cheese and such make me gassy, but I love them so I don't let that stop me from eating them hehe.
Do you have foods that you avoid because of what they do to your body? Or do you tend to eat them anyway like I do just because they are your favorites?

I am sucker for BBQ stuff, but I get very bad heart burn. Certain types of pizza give me bad heart burn also. Thank gosh for zantac.

Try eating fresh pineapple for heart burn. Eat it before the meal that causes you problems. It is better for you than zantac.

We do not eat corn very often for various reasons, although we like pop corn. Beans often give us gas, but we eat them anyway. You must not have any kids to feed this evening. The soup sounds good.

They are meals for one person. we put some pork chops she got at the food bank in the crockpot. She took a whole one for herself even though there were only 3 of them. In other words, the kids will end up with peanut butter and jelly as I doubt Liz finds them anything else when she gets home from work.
