"You Have to Be an Idiot to Test Positive for PEDs"

In 2013 Marlon Byrd, who's played for as many teams as I've been to concerts this year, was suspended by Major League Baseball after testing positive for a banned substance, or a performance-enhancing drug (PED). At that time he famously said, "You have to be an idiot to test positive for PEDs." What does that make him now? Today (6/1) he was suspended 162 games (a year's worth) after testing positive for PEDs yet again. Byrd, 38, was playing for the Cleveland Indians this year. He may have played his last professional baseball game, given that this is his second offense (the third one results in a lifetime ban from baseball) and his age. And to think Babe Ruth hit all those home runs on nothing more than beer and hot dogs.

Apparently he didn't learn his lesson from being an idiot the first time!

At 38, Byrd is will be done anyway. 162 games stretches into late 2017 season and he'll be around 40. Big Papi may be awesome at 40 but not Byrd after a year away. The PEDs explain why he was hitting well this season. And Babe Ruth was surprisingly fleet of foot and moved well despite his girth.
