Travelling Alone or With Loved Ones?

I once planned to travel alone but did not happen as my boyfriend that time gets worried on me being alone in a foreign country. Although the plan was not realized, I feel better that I travelled with my boyfriend because I know there will always be someone with me if ever I get lost or I want to have a photo of the beautiful country. I also travelled a lot with my family in the past. It was great too as we do not normally have our family bonding during ordinary days. Photo was taken during a trip with my family and boyfriend

I have travelled alone when I was young, it was fine. These days I go with my husband, and sometimes our son and his wife and our daughter and husband come with us. Which one is you - the one on the right?

Thanks for sharing Jabo! Did you travel outside of your country when you were young? I am thinking of travelling alone within our country--Philippines which I believe has many hidden gems.Yes, I am the girl on the right and the man beside me is my boyfriend.

@jaboUK Thank you so much for the compliments. Your parents must be persons that have strong beliefs in you. In my family, it will be difficult for me to go far away from home alone for my parents always worry.

@annierose No I didn't travel out of my country when I was on my own - I just packed a tent, got on my motorbike and went where my spirit took me. I did go to France and Belgium in a campervan with just a girlfriend when I was about 20 - great fun. You are very nice looking, and so is your boyfriend.

@magallon Wow! I love Singapore a lot. Where in Singapore did you go? I haven't been to Cagayan De Oro . Baguio is really a must especially during hot season.

@annierose We went to Singapore. We stayed there for 5 days. Here in the Philippines, we also went to Cagayan De Oro City, that was 7 days and in Baguio City for 4 days. We were supposed to go to Pagadian City last May but because of many works in the office, we were not able to go.

@annierose I'm thinking of just keeping my travels locally here in the Philippines like Boracay, Puerto Galera, and Sagada. Cebu is an option as well. If things go well, I'm thinking of Asian countries like Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.

@allen0187 That is great! I hope that you can make it to other countries too. I have never been to those places that you mentioned but I am looking forward to visit them with my boyfriend in the future. Travelling to other countries is also a worthwhile experience. There are so much to learn and to enjoy in life.

I traveled alone once and I enjoyed the freedom of just being alone in a foreign land. It has its ups and downs. The recent travel I had out of the country was with my family.

Travelling alone is very challenging but I know that through doing that, we will know ourselves more. Travelling with family is always perfect. I am looking forward on it while my mom is still with us.

@toniganzon I agree with that! We only have one mom so I want to give the best for my own, especially now that she is old and weak. She is already on her mid-60's and have been complaining about her body lately. She started to become that way when my dad passed away.

It is very challenging to travel solo. I think it is a fulfillment when someone was able to travel on her own.

That's a good picture. I prefer traveling with loved ones, making and sharing more memories with them. But I also know that sometimes, it can also be stressful because you have to make adjustments for everyone, especially if you have to travel with a large group. I have never tried traveling by myself, but who knows there might be an opportunity that I can find out if it is something that I might enjoy.

Thanks Raine! That is the downside of travelling with others as you have to make sure they have been enjoying the trip. For example, with my trip to my family, there are fun activities we want to do but could not really do like bungee jumping but of course my mom will not do it because of her old age. So we just have to look for something that everyone will enjoy.

It is such a wonderful thing that your partner also loves to travel. I am now presently in Hongkong and my boyfriend and I both agreed that travelling is physically draining but its nothing compared to the joy it brings to us as a person.

@annierose Both my husband and I have always loved to travel and we traveled a lot due to my husband job. Every time we needed to leave for business, we added a few days to enjoy the place we were going to visit.

I can't travel without a companion besides being alone, I don't want that I have no one that I can't talk to, it's very lonely.
