Rich people live longer

The rich people are living longer, and they are healthier. This is the result of a study published by Journal of the American Medical Association. They based the study on 1?408?287?218 person-year observations (I don't know what that means, but it seems that they study a lot of people over a long period of time). A simple conclusion is that the rich can afford to retire early, live healthier life and live longer than the the rest of us. As for the poor, depends on where they live, they can match up to the life expectancy of the middle income group. Personally I think the rich has more money, and they are more likely to go for annual healthy check than the poor. When they have health problem, they are more likely to call the private doctors and get reports done in just a few hours. That plus the fact that the rich eats better, and they have secretaries to handle all the bills, and whatever. They just have more time, and less stress.
This study uses deidentified US tax records to estimate race- and ethnicity-adjusted life expectancy at 40 years of age by household income percentile, sex, and geographic area, and to evaluate factors associated with differences in life expectancy.

They get to stay in private ward with a large sofa bed and the bathroom and toilet in the ward. They do not have to stay together with a few others in the same ward, and risk getting infected from so many people.

They will not think twice about buying a variety of fruits. Even if an exotic fruit costs a few dollars, they will still buy it. They are not likely to eat good food, since they can afford all the expensive restaurant meals.

You remind me of the queen in UK. Be sure she is powerful, rich and has a long life. Rich people can have the better medical treatment and healthier diet. They also can have a nice journey to relax. The life shall be easier for them.

@scheng1 My boss is quite a rich person but he often keeps low profile. And actually he doesn't have much more spare time and he is like a working machine. Perhaps working is his hobby. For example, when he goes abroad for business, he never will think about having a relaxing trip after that. Such a simple person like me will never understand why such a rich person can live like that

@youless I think for him, the business is like his baby. He wants to take care of his "baby" all the time, and he thinks about work all the time. Perhaps that is good, because such bosses live a long time.

In fact, the rich works lesser than the rest of us too. We have to fight the traffic to get to work on time, and the rich owners of the companies just have to ask their secretaries to send the documents to their house for them to sign. If they need things done, they will ask the managers.

That is true, that rich people live longer because when they find some unusual to their health, they have plenty of money to consult a doctor right away and they can buy easily healthy foods.

Yes, they can also take more vacations than us. They can just travel to other countries for retreat or treatment when their health is not in the best condition.

Many rich people are very smart too, especially those who make their own riches. They know that they should take care of their health, so they let others do the hard work, and they spend more time on the important things in life.

If you search for great investors such as Warren Buffet, you can be sure that you will see them in their 80s or 90s, and they really enjoy life to the full. The rich often go for their health screening that costs a thousand dollars or so, and when they have some discomfort, they will call their doctors to get a diagnosis or a scan. The poor has to wait for hours with other patients.

@miniam Yes, that is the problem. They are the ones who do not even want to spend on insurance policies, and when they need money, they have to borrow, and in the end, they are trapped in the poverty cycle.

But i think it is not the riches that make one lives longer, it is how healthy his lifestyle has been.

Rich people generally have healthier lifestyle than us. They can afford good food, and they can work lesser hours, and they can pay for more vacations, and club membership. They can hire servants at home to do the housework, and cook for them too.

That is all true about the rich. They can afford to go to the Doctor when they are sick and can afford to buy healthy foods.

They do not wait till they are sick to go to the doctor. They will go for regular health screening that cost a few hundred dollars. They will make appointments with specialists when the test results are less than ideal.

The surprising thing is that they live way longer than the poor. They retire early, and they live longer, and so they have more time to enjoy life.
