Fireworks already?

Well, not fireworks exactly but booms and bangs and more loud noises. It has already begun. June has started and kids think it's time to begin celebrating the 4th of July. The last couple of nights, I've been hearing lots of loud bangs and booms coming from somewhere in the neighborhood. They are very loud and I'm actually surprised that no one called the police. Once I hear the first one, the rest don't bother me. But my poor cat runs and hides. Since we're so close to where the 4th of July fireworks will be set off, I know she's not going to enjoy that evening. They have "coats" for dogs to help settle them when there's thunder or fireworks happening, but I'm not sure they have anything for cats. I should look into that, just in case. -Claudia- image from pixabay

Probably the kids are home and they want to have some fun. I haven't heard fireworks in my area.

I missed the fireworks in every occasions. Sadly in our place, the fireworks are banned, and it's been more than a year already. It is because there's a time that in our place was on siege. there's a war way back 2013. After that war. if we heard a like a missile shots, most of the people were panicked, they thought there could an another war. some people are traumatize about that siege. and sometimes we already miss the fireworks in a way that gives a sign for HAPPINESS.

Kids still have a couple of weeks of school to go, but they seem to be out a little later in the evenings since it's light out for so long right now.

Once my cat gets scared, nothing helps. Even the vet didn't know what to do with her when she saw how out of control my cat gets. So I will just have to hope for the best.

LOL! I'll be glad when people begin setting off the real fireworks and not just the loud bangs. At least it will give me something to look at!

I agree with you. But they seem to think they make more money that way

Fireworks are banned from sale here except for sparklers. There are public fireworks displays from time to time though.

Fireworks only became legal here a couple of years ago. So kids tend to go overboard.

She'll go and hide somewhere. They usually don't last too long (until we get the real fireworks on the 4th) so it's just loud bangs for a while and then quiet again. I should try to find a safe place where she can go.

Funny how we are so used to the fireworks here in India. The booms and bangs you mentioned in your post are so high in intensity that it can cause LED lights to break and shake up your entire house literally. I am not over exaggerating it's true. And we are accustomed to it. Also needless to mention you can easily spot the fireworks in the sky even on the happening of fairly insignificant events like say Team India winning a a cricket match.

Wow! I had no idea fireworks were so popular in India! That's great to know! We don't have them much except for July 4th and New Year's Eve, so I never get used to the noise. But I love watching fireworks up in the sky. I think they're beautiful!
