Hummingbirds and an Ace like no other

Today I did a few things. I went to work, continued making friends with my fellow classmates in training, joked a lot with the remotely based trainer.
During my whole hour! of lunch, I decided to be productive. I finally checked out the Ace Hardware near my work. It's family owned, and when Home Depot came to town they bought up several small stores in the strip mall (including a hobby shop) and joined them all together to form one big store that has everything from model airplanes to baby chicks.
I bought a new screwdriver, some lithium grease for the front door rekeying project, some monofiliment and bulldog clips for paper hanging, and a hummingbird feeder. Not just any feeder either, but a pretty copper and glass thing that's actually built halfway well. The nectar I bought with it comes from my own city.
Coming home, I helped the partner get the rolltop desk inside, she fixed the front screen door lock with the grease and some judicious smacking, and we hung the feeder.
I had fun going to that odd, eclectic Ace. And I think I'll have fun watching the birds!

I'd have loved to snoop in that store, too, @Rohvannyn. Photo of that delightful hummingbird feeder?

You are so lucky to have those hummingbirds in your neighbourhood. I only have a hummingbird tattooed on my right shoulder blade coz we don't have them here in our country.

The hummingbirds are migratory and visit Arizona. They are wild birds.

Yeah, me too. It looks like all the Ace Hardware stores here are family owned.

It is, each one in this town is independently operated.
