Low Point with Hotpoint - Can’t Deliver To Dunoon, Scotland!

Yet again I am dismayed by the logistics of Hotpoint in England and all because I am one of the millions of owners affected by the tumble dryer recall. It is now June 2016 and an engineer tried to call around to my home in May, two weeks ago when the visit was supposed to be in March/April. I was away of course out of the UK. Now it seems I have two options before me; either order a replacement machine at reduced cost or have an engineer visit me again to repair my older tumble dryer. Since the above experience of waiting months at a time for the said tumble dryer to possibly catch fire, I would prefer to buy a new Hotpoint tumble dryer NOW before winter sets in. After all, with 7 years clean experience from the last model, this fire recall hasn’t ruined my experience with the brand - but the delivery experience and dealing with utterly silly customer service reps really takes the biscuit! So when it came to choosing the replacement machine I wanted which would additionally see me out of pocket of £59, it seems a delivery date cannot be guaranteed. Why? Because “Hotpoint don’t deliver to Dunoon, Argyll.” Well they managed to deliver to me last time! Infact, they certainly delivered two washing machines to me by accident two years ago for a video review product advertising campaign direct from Hotpoint in Peterborough and in collaboration with Ciao, Germany and UK. (You can see me and a few other “certain” myLot members featured at In essence and in reality, major appliance brands don’t exactly follow realistic ways of travel to homes of buyers and owners. For those in Argyll and Bute which spans most of the west coast of Scotland, there is something called a ferry service. It is a rolling on and off boat service run by local company, “Western Ferries.” Most brands such as John Lewis, Argos and others are often seen on the ferries when making a delivery to Dunoon and neighbouring villages. I dare say even our Royal Duke of Argyll in Inveraray has probably had deliveries… But oh no, not Hotpoint. Even if Hotpoint, Indesit & Creda have been taken over by the American Whirlpool corporation, it seems to me their logistics network haven’t been improved and by taking a 6 hour drive to get to my location when they could effectively cut travel time by half of that with a 20 minute ferry ride over, Hotpoint, say NO to Dunoon because they aren’t prepared to pay for ferry travel. The owner then loses out. No wonder Hotpoint are where they are today - the Americans know logistics better and the sooner Whirlpool looks into how poorly run the network is in England, the better the companies that they own for UK distribution will become. It is not just about how reliable a machine is that guarantees a good reputation but rather the overall support given for the owner who wants that brand in their lives. (c)Nar2/Crystalvisions2016. If you are also one of those disgruntled Hotpoint owners, simply sign the petition found at http://www.soapboxshout.com/campaigns/hotpoint-customers-have-had-enough?platform=hootsuite HotpointSupport even had the cheek to tweet and tell me that the reason I couldn't order a machine is lack of stock. Hotpoint UK confirmed in a phone call earlier than they have plenty of the machines in stock. Less bullshi* please and more organisation, required.

Hope you get some satisfaction in the end. This would be so annoying.
