Just say no to extra salt. SALT is not natural the way America likes SALT. Strategic Appetite Likes This. If you get my drift. I took the acronym and placed it in warp drive so you could see what I am all about. People like flavor. Salt adds flavor but we only need so much in our daily diet. As a matter of fact o mundo, check out the statistics on salt: You daily requirement for sodium chloride, aka SALT is as follows: From the American Heart Association: I Quote - "Did you know that on average, Americans eat more than 3,400 milligrams of sodium each day — much more than the American Heart Association and other health organizations recommend? Most of us are likely underestimating how much sodium we eat, if we can estimate it at all. The association surveyed 1,000 adults and found that one-third couldn’t estimate how much sodium they ate, and another 54 percent thought they were eating less than 2,000 mg sodium a day." The Mayo Clinic says to limit your daily intake of sodium to 2,300 mg a day, but less is even better. The average American daily intake of sodium is more like upwards of about 3, 400 mg a day. So on average we all are over the top with salt. Check out this link below:
The American Heart Association explains its sodium recommendations, including how much to eat and why not to be concerned with getting too little salt.

You never realize just how much you are eating SALT each day until you add it up from all the labels from canned soup to crispy and fully flavored bags of potato and corn chips.

@szrhossain , Actually there is a way. Don't eat canned soups and as for bags of potatoes, the potato has 30 mg sodium and is 1% of the daily value of sodium. A good source about this is below: Actually you can add water to caned soup to lower the overall amount of sodium per serving. Start with half a can of water added to a can of soup and gradually work it to a full can of water to a can of soup until you get used to the flavor. You will not notice much difference. Another thing you can do is add potatoes to the soup because the potato is a low sodium food and can add more volume to the soup and there are some other vegetables that can also be added to certain canned soups. Also, look for low sodium on the cans of certain soups to get less salt in your meals. For further information go to the link I have given you below: http://www.livestrong.com/article/318996-how-to-lower-the-sodium-content-of-canned-soup/

And that is a bad thing because you might get a stroke or heart disease. Salt is a necessary mineral in our daily diet but we tend to use far too much and don't even keep record of the amounts we consume and this is why I stress the need for all to keep tabs on your daily salt. When in doubt, leave salt out!

Which is what the main problem is in America. It takes time to come down off of salt like sugar because our taste for salt becomes desensitized by heavy bombardments of both sodium and sugar that we seem to crave without really knowing why. Both too much salt and too much sugar on a daily basis over the years will lead to health complications for anyone, even weight lifters and super models.

I salt very lightly when I do. But of course, there is always salt in prepared food.

You could simply try laying off the salt just for a while just to see if it in any way makes you feel better health wise. I plan on a salt restricted diet as of yesterday. I will be on a sugar restricted diet when I am first off the salt. I can't go with both being reduced as it will cause certain failure on my part.

I like salt on my food. I don't know what to do. Too much salt can be dangerous to health I totally know. I wish there is a better way to give taste to food without using salt.
