Severe Thunderstorm

The weather this afternoon and tonight has been hectic to say the least. As you can see in the picture the skies overhead were red. In my entire life I've never seen a red sky.
Between the booming thunder, forked lightning, and the red sky, and the rain that flooded the streets, it was pretty bad here. It even got to the point where the lightning just lit up the sky and didn't streak it any longer. I even managed with a lot of patience to get a picture of that. Call it luck for that one.
They are lifting the severe thunderstorm watch in half an hour. I haven't heard any thunder in the last hour, but it doesn't mean the storms are over, especially with what I see on the weather map.
My grandson walked home from work in this storm instead of calling for anyone to pick him up. His clothes are drying right now in the dryer.
The storm is all over the Midwest going to the east coast. So if you haven't gotten what we had here, you will be getting it. These are severe storms like nothing I've ever heard or seen before.

@just4him I think you have got that peculiar color of sky on camera.Though I am not in your country,we were supposed to have severe Monsoon Rains here since June 9.But after 2 days' rain,now it is very Sunny. I am rather surprised.Hope,the whether there improves soon.

@just4him Yes it was good.I think I spoke too soon.It started to rain and it has not stopped.There is a chill in the air.

Its really brick red in color.
It looks as if it is showing anger on us.
The face of a person shows everything like that sky is showing its expression.

@just4him it's raining and rumbling now. Temps just dropped 10 to 20 degrees in the feworld minutes I've been sitting on the back porch

@Jessicalynnt That's a lot to drop in a short time. We've had a nice cool day all day. I'm taking advantage of it by doing laundry late so I'm not heating the house up too much during the day.
