It is the National day of celebration here in my country- the Philippine Independence Day is commemorated nationwide. But this day is also a sorrowful day for my family…
Seven years ago on this day, I brought my mother to the hospital because of vomiting and hypertension. She was confined with the tentative diagnosis of gastro-enteritis (which was not right because she vomited just twice, and no loose motions too).
Dawn of the 13th, my mother left us to join our father in Heaven. She just slept, with no fight against death, but she talked the gift of tongues. I was with her throughout the night and until she breathed her last. I was the one who decided to stop the resuscitative measures.
It is with deep sorrow and sadness to lose our parents, but I know they are there in heaven watching over us.
The white dress I wore in my first Holy communion was sewn by my mother, a great seamstress.

@ridingbet I went for a second look at your picture when you said that , and indeed you seem to be thinking something naughty too , because of your impish smile.
So, even as a child , you were already naughty .

@ridingbet That's nice. Attending mass is the best you can do to remember your mother and offering it for her intention.

Thanks. Actually all my uniforms in school were sewn by her, from elementary to college. She is there now in heaven and they are our guardian angels.

So sad indeed, but your mother is surely guiding you always (so they say). You are lucky to had listened to her last words.

yes my friend. in fact, i bought her favorite food for her last meal; i prepared her coffee with rice as her breakfast, and i even inserted an intravenous fluid (2 bottles) in the same week, because she felt so weak that time.
