Math is the subject that most students don't want. Why? Because it is too complicated. Exponents, variables, simplify, cross multiply, reduce, so many things to do in just one problem. My youngest son is lucky to have his sisters tutoring him in his math lessons.

I use to hate math myself until I began getting the hang of it and it turned out to be lots of fun

Yes, according to some it is fun in Mathematics. That is if you know the rules and if you know how to do it. Teachers should really make Math time enjoyable because if not, many students will get failing grade in that subject.

@magallon Yeah that was my luck, my math teacher made it fun for us so we never felt forced to learn formulas and what not, instead he made it into a game where everybody was participating and learning

And how about the mother? Why is it the elder sister is the one who tutor the youngest son, especially Math., ha, ha. I think you are also busy with many works in the house.

Ha ha ha.. The mother can't teach him Math. Especially if it is about Algebra, Statistics, Geometry. I still have to review the rules and the way to do it before I can teach him his lessons in Math. I can teach him all the other subjects but not Math. He might get a failing grade if I will be the one to teach him...lol

@magallon Ha, ha, I get your point and understand you. Besides, we already forget the formula on how to solve those problems, good that you let your daughter to teach him.

@ida123 That's true. At our age, it is somewhat difficult already to recall all those that were taught to us. We need to read and review again before we can do it.

Maybe it depends on the person. For me, Math is really difficult. I love English more than Math.

@JustBhem I can also keep up during discussion. But now that I am done with all those Math lessons, I cannot recall already how those things are done. Unless I read and review all the rules and techniques.

I am happy to see them helping their brother. Big sisters are really good teachers to their younger siblings.

@magallon I find something to do with slowing things down and making it happen is better because calculators do all the work automatically once you get to learn how to use them.

@Bluedoll They are not allowed also to use calculators especially during tests. Calculators really help in making computations easy. But rules will not be learned or applied if they will be allowed to use it.

When I was still Grade school to High School. I really love math. When it comes college. Since my course is Engineering. I don't know what happened to me. I almost messed up and almost failed on some math. But still I've survived. But the important is to analyze it very well. and understand how it flows. you can get the right track. There's also a shortcut, to make a life easier.
