A person who collects fridge magnets is called a memomagnetist! - magnetis meaning magnet in Greek A person who collects Teddy bears is called a arctophilist - arktos meaning Bear in Greek A person who collects shells is called a conchologist - konkhos meaning cockle (shell) in Greek. A person who collects dolls is called a plangonologis - plaggon meaning wax doll in ancient Greek. Well after researching all the collector names of things, it seems they all are derived from some or other Greek word. Quite strange that words we use now, came from some or other ancient origin. Well I collect stamps, so I am a philatelist; spoons but have no name for it! postcards - Deltiologists decorative plates Oh I dont know yet! Thimbles are for Grandmothers so they are Digitabulist, and that dear followers is the total of my list! ~ just a little rhyme to make you smile How many countries can your EYE SPY on my fridge magnet space?

Wow - that's an amazing collection. Did you buy most of them yourself, or were they presents?

Wow you do have lots of magnets.I used to collect magnets from the different places we visited here in the US. They somehow got lost when I had everything in storage.

its sad when things get lost in a move - do you think the movers steal it?

You have some really lovely magnets. I have some but many are flat. I tend to knock the larger sort off and they gradually get broken.

I have all of the flat ones at the bottom - my hubby broke my first Venice mask so he had to take me back to get another - that is our rule

That rhyme did make me smile :) I see UK, Australia, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, I'm guessing Matjiesfontein is in South Africa? and Ireland. The blue shoe I'm not sure about, but it does look like there might be an Austrian flag in there?

Good Morning John - if you look at the blue shoe and see the EYE on the top - what does it make you think of? However it is not Greece
