Never use Bleach..

I woke up on Sunday evening to find that a family member decided to clean the bathroom with bleach. Now I already have a severe dislike of the smell, no matter the amount used. I'm very sensitive to it and so even the smallest amount puts me off from going anywhere NEAR the area it's in.
However, this family member used what must have amounted to a jug of the stuff. The smell was horrendous, chokingly so. Which meant not only did I have to hold my breath and my nose to get my toothpaste from said bathroom (luckily I had a new toothbrush in my room I hadn't yet taken to the bathroom) but I also couldn't take a shower...
Yeah.. gross very much so. When I came home on Monday morning the smell was still there, albeit not as strong. It's even still here today but very very very miniscule traces of it.
Luckily I can jump in the shower sometime tonight...
I'm not going to lie, I was highly pissed at the person who decided to clean the bathroom in this way. We have other bathroom cleaning products that aren't as harsh in smell or chemical and they chose to use bleach of all things....

I know this person HAS to know that but for whatever reason, they used it undiluted.

I can't stand the smell of bleach either, it really does a number on my breathing and my eyes.

It was dangerous for the person who was using it to do so anyway. That's one thing I don't understand. She's okay now but methinks I need to hide the bleach.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yup sounds like you need to lock it away.

I only use a small amount of bleach to clean the toilet and the bathtub. It is great to clean any fungal growth and kill bacteria. You don't need a lot to do the job. Putting it into a spray bottle and adding water is just as effective.
They must have used way too much for it to linger in the air that long.

I bought cleaner with bleach as I can tolerate it. It sits on the back of the counter off to one side, and yet this person used actual full strength bleach instead...
I think they must have went to pour a little bit and ended up pouring way too much but don't want to admit it...

@ScribbledAdNauseum when I use just a small amount my eyes, nose, and throat burn. Not great stuff to overuse. I can even smell it after I leave a house that I had to use it to clean with.

Bleach gives me really bad migraines so I don't use it. I have other cleaners as well that I use.

I had to stay away as well as I knew it would give me a headache.

Bleaching the toilet is all fine and good... it's when they use it to clean the entirety of the bathroom, and entirely too much at that...
I use either vinegar and baking soda or a bleach spray highly dilluted.

I think too much bleach will ruin your floor tiles and bowl and the smell is too strong. Maybe you have to tell that person not to use it again for you not to piss off again.

I think they learned their own lesson. THey were feeling weak and woozy for several hours after they cleaned the bathroom.

I think that we are all sensitive to some things. I like the smell of bleach. I like clean, soapy smells.

I hate harsh chemicals like that. Hopefully you guys can settle on a non toxic overpowering product next time!

I can't stand strong scents either. Do you have a bathroom fan in your bathroom?
