Classic ambrosia is simply oranges, pineapples, coconut and sugar which I guess are fine but I was looking for an ambrosia salad with lots of goodies. It turned out delicious, not too sweet and we will enjoy every bite.
Yes, there are many ambrosia recipes out there... Im only posting mine here for safe keeping And for when Im asked for the recipe after bringing it to a party/gathering... Dont get me wrong, its very tasty And Ill mostly only prefer the taste of mine, so i

The recipe I use is so simple. Canned mixed fruits, bananas, whipped topping, walnuts, mini marshmallows and coconut. Yum Yum. I will make a batch for family gatherings. My daughter takes home the leftovers if there are any left to take home!

I had never made it before and was pleased with the results. Your recipe sounds good, except the banana part. I'd leave that out but ambrosia seems to be one of those recipes where you can experiment to get exactly what you want.

@irishidid I prefer a mixed tropical fruit over the typical fruit cocktail that I used when the kids were younger. I also use mandarin oranges.

I'm not sure I've ever tasted ambrosia. It certainly sounds yummy.
