Is your penmanship readable?

I haven't have a legible handwriting ever since I was a student. I guess, among my siblings, I am the only one who has a chicken scratch like handwriting. It becomes worse when I learned how to use a computer. It has been the reason why I have never been assigned to be the secretary in class or in any other organization because I write like a doctor. How is your penmanship? Did the use of computer somehow affected the way you write?

They say mine is readable. Most of the time, I was the secretary in class, or even when I wasn't, I was the one tasked by our teachers to write on the board. Ironically, I cannot read my own handwriting at times. Ahahahaha

Aside from the fact that your writing is readable, I think another thing why the teacher always asked you to write on the board was that you also know well how to spell words correctly, when to capitalize a word and include a punctuation mark on your sentences. I was never asked to write on the board because I would just give my teacher and classmates a hard time decoding what I wrote.

@brokenbee Wow! I am jealous. I cannot draw without a pattern.

@annierose and they say I can draw too, so they also let me do illustrations on the board.

My handwriting though not pretty is very legible. And the computer hasn't affected me at all. In fact I enjoy using different kinds of pen on my planners and journals. I have fountain pens, brush pens in different brands, and fine point pens.

I love to use pens with different colors too. I get bored with black and blue so sometimes I just buy other pens that have another color like pink, green, orange, etc. It makes me more motivated to write but still my handwriting is not pretty.

@annierose Yeah you need to practice actually to have a legible penmanship. I'm practicing brush pens for a very attractive handwriting.

I have always had a very nice handwriting and the use of computer has not affected it, because I still write many notes using pen and paper.

I am lacking on that part --writing using pen and paper as I am used in typing. In fact, my typing speed increases but I neglect my handwriting skills.

@LadyDuck I remember we did that too when we were in high school but I did not have much interest on it. My brother is my complete opposite when it comes to writing. He is very good in calligraphy too.

@annierose I am a professional typist and I type most of the time, but when I went to school we also studied "calligraphy" and this is something I have always liked and I regularly train my hand writing.

My bad penmanship was one of 3 reasons I did not take the board exams. I was afraid that would cause me to fail.

@annierose I don't think so. It's the accountancy board. I did not take it. What I did not get, my daughter got now. She took the board exams and is now a senior manager in an international auditing company. Have to log out now, Ms. Annie. I'm going to the house of one of those I visit on Sundays. She passed away at 4PM yesterday. Just got the news this morning. I have to check on where her body now lies in state. See you later, Ms. Annie.

Haha. I think my penmanship depends on what kind of pen I'm using. lol. If I use sign pen my penmanship gets better but if I use regular pen it does not better.

Yes. I agree on that. It is also one of the factors that affect our penmanship.

@JustBhem Good to hear that! It was very hard for me to write using a pen but I tried my best to make my penmanship readable when I was still a student. I remember I had a professor before who will not accept any paper that has a chicken scratch penmanship.

Most times my handwriting is readable, except when I have to sign something and have the paper against a wall..

I think it is good to read your handwriting. Your teachers must like your penmanship.

It is a new information for me. How old is your daughter and how do you help her with her difficulties?

It is still very readable , although it's a far cry from my beautiful handwriting when i was still in college . The computer age has made my hand not practice writing anymore that's why .

I still hand write, but not so well as I used to. My writing now is usually just for my own eyes, so I don't need to be too careful.

I think that the more we practice our handwriting, the better it become. However, in my case, I am typing most of the time rather than writing using my hands.

oh!! ..need not worry about writing. It is said that all intellectuals, and great people do not have good penmanship. They are all successful people and settle nicely in their lives. People who got good penmanshp are not endowed with luck.

It makes me happy that I am intelligent because I have a very bad penmanship. Anyway, I think it does not apply to all because I have seen some people who have been gifted with a good penmanship and at the same time are very smart.

I used to have a beautiful penmanship, but not so anymore, as I have arthritis in my hands and it is difficult to write now.

Before, I can read my penmanship very well but now, I almost can't. Maybe, it was affected by using computers when I was still working at the bank and until this time.
