Netflix, Hulu, Cable Company, Dish, Prime or Rabbit Ears

I wanted to find out how others watch television and movies at home? Netflix just sent me an e-mail to inform me the rate is going up and I'm now considering whether I should keep getting the service when I have Netflix, Hulu, Cable Company and Prime. Its a high bill to say the least! Rabbit Ears means no service where I live so would miss a lot of television shows I enjoy watching now. Yes, I could just stream some of them; however, CBS is hard to stream without paying their fee. I'm a big fan of Blue Bloods. Hulu has a lot of shows available: including, some that stream only from Hulu. I do use the service a lot, so its not in danger of leaving me. Prime I signed up at a reduced rate for a year and am certain if it was full price the cost wouldn't be worth it. I'll be leaving next year, if they want me to pay full price! I don't use it enough to be worth the cost. Cable Company My husband won't leave the cable company feels its needed and I haven't convinced him its overpriced and just getting higher with no great chances coming anytime soon. Time Warner was bought out, so we will see, if he loves Charter. Personally, I think all Charter will do is raise the rate without improving the service. Dish is popular in my area, but my husband doesn't want a dish on our house. I understand and don't want another bill. Which services do you use and would you change if you could now?

l only ever pay for Netflix. l've recently signed up for a service called Comic Con HQ and that has some amazing geek oriented shows and movies too. Other than that we don't have Hulu here in the UK or ar least l haven't heard of it and most people have Sky and Amazon Prime. l tend to stream and torrent more than l care to admit though sadly. lf l had more money l'd be subscribed to all the available services. For now it's just the ones l really want to support. The service having good original content is key for me.

Comic Con sounds great and I think my husband and daughter would be really happy with that service. I'll admit Netflix has original programs that you can't see elsewhere, so likely will end up saving money somewhere else to keep paying the bill. When I purchased my television a free year of Netflix and Hulu was included, so we really were able to try both services and use them a lot. Thanks for posting and will forward to learning more about Comic Con HQ.

@Cherganski Thanks I will certainly look into soon. I live in the United States and hope its available in my area. I'm always looking for the services that will be used the most, as its important to have entertainment available for my entire family. One night out and it can be quite expensive in my area in Southern California.

@sol_cee Several friends have suggested I just buy the TV Shows I watched and turn off the television, which would be cheaper for me, but my husband watches a lot of television. Thanks for the comments and have a great weekend.

The first time somebody told me to stream it I laughed. I think of stream and water. My thought was how would a body of water help me see a movie and the younger generation sure had to help me learn about using a computer in college. It was eye opening and really helped me see the world. I can get information so fast from around the world. Thanks for posting.

Netflix does have a lot to watch and I'm going to see what movies are offered on Amazon Prime Movies. The reason we use several services was the high cost of seeing movies at the movies after you consider the cost of food and drink in the cost of movie viewing away from home. I couldn't believe just how much it costs for a family to see a movie. During my teenage years my brothers and I would take bread wrappers to the drive in and see the movies for free. Its hard to get use to paying for movies now. Thanks for posting.
