It's Storming

It’s almost 1 AM and it’s been storming here for about an hour. West of here there were tornado warnings and possible wind gusts up to 60 mph. It’s been raining for quite some time. I can’t sleep when it’s storming. I usually don’t even sleep when it’s raining, especially if the rain hits the window near my pillow. In California, there are wild fires out of control. Thousands of homes have been threatened. People are evacuating. The thunder is rumbling now more at a distance, so I hope the storm is moving away finally. Tomorrow is the last day of school here and my grandson is happy about that. He’s a good student. He’s had some exams this week, but he was exempt from most of them, because of having A’s in most of his classes, if not all of them. That was his goal this nine weeks, to get all A’s. Where are you? I hadn't heard about the wildfires in California. We're OK up here in the Bay Area.

We do have storms..but some trees fall off. Other than that...no fires or major calamities in my city. That is one reason I admire the resilience at your end..every year you all have tornadoes almost all states are vulnerable, all coastal states are vulnerable to hurricanes and storms, and to top it all forest fires. In India, apparently, we don't have forests anymore to have those fires..just admirable how you all cope up..

@vandana7 In California, we don't have many tornadoes. But we do have wildfires. And we always wonder when the next earthquake is coming.

@TheHorse .. Oh yeah...that too..in fact that is so big. We hardly feel earthquakes..because epicenter is always elsewhere quite far from us.

The storm was really bad in some areas of Virginia, but we got mostly rain and there was no damage on our property. A lot of trees and branches came down in other areas near us, and disrupted the electricity in several areas. Our power did NOT go off, thankfully.

The storm was very bad in some areas of Virginia, but not in my area. We did get a lot of rain and there was lightning and a lot of thunder rumbling through the sky, but it was at a distance from us, thankfully.
