My plants have really taken off in this hot/humid weather we've been having and I think I'll have my first ready-to-be-picked zucchini and yellow squash in about a week or so.
I'm actually a little surprised it is doing as well as it is. I decided to downsize my garden this year and just have a few small planter boxes up by my house. The zucchini has taken over the one box completely. In comparison, the last time I tried growing zucchini in a small box like that, it didn't produce anything.

No such thing. What I can't use fresh, I can freeze. Or, in some cases, I trade it. I ended up with a bedroom closet organizer a few years ago in exchange for 5 zucchini.

I am worried that my zucchini and yellow squash will not do well this year. I planted both from seed and although they are up and look healthy, they aren't getting very big. We have had a slow year weatherwise.
Now we are going to move and will need to dig up the plants and transplant them to a new garden bed. Hoping they will be okay.
Never thought of putting them in a box. My husband and I love summer squash and would need a few boxes to support what we could eat during the summer months. LOL!

Your garden is way ahead of ours. We've definitely been humid but not hot. The sun is out today though and hopefully this nice weather will last for awhile.

That zucchini is growing big time. Hopefully that translates to a good harvest.
